Launch Success
BoomerVenture's
two fall programs, Financial Fitness @ 50+ and Gourmet
To Go, exceeded all expectations. Each generated a turnout of
over three times
what was anticipated.
BoomerVenture
thanks our three
financial advisors and chef du jour for
their leadership and inspiration in
helping to roll out the first BoomerVenture programs.
BoomerVenture
Rationale
BoomerVenture was created to take a
pro-active approach in reaching out to
local baby boomers -- to help them think twice before cashing
in their backyard barbeques for the carefree condos of Florida,
Las Vegas, or North Carolina.
Though under-served and sometimes misunderstood, baby boomers
represent the largest concentration
of financial power in the country today,
a power that alters each portion of the marketplace as they enter
it.
As has been the
case since the
mid-60's, they are lifestyle leaders, not followers, and almost
universal early adopters of newer products and technologies.
They are discriminating
in their tastes, yet eternally inclined
toward the innovative and novel. |

Coping With
Caregiving

Tasked with caring
for both parents and children at the same time, "sandwich
generation" baby-boomers face a plethora of issues in trying
to meet the needs of the people closest to them. Resources and
support for senior caregiving may be found in this new BoomerVenture
program running:
12:30-1:30PM,
Tuesday afternoons
throughout the month of June at the Andover Senior Center.
Coping With
Caregiving Sessions:
June 3: Sandwich
Services.
Kristine Arakelian, LCSW, MPH, Outreach Coord., Andover Senior
Center, & Louise Edelblute, RN, Community Geriatric Nurse,
will explore key areas caregivers face & available community
resources.
June 10: Sandwich
Shop Talk.
4 local
baby-boomers will share their stories and experiences about what
it's like to be caring
for two generations.
June 17: Sandwich
Education.
Several experts in the area of senior caregiving will share over
60 years of combined experience and expertise in dealing with
various potential senior living scenarios (and how to pay for
them).
June 24: Sandwich
Strategies.
The 21st century of healthcare will be previewed by Kelley MacDonald,
RN, MSN, Community Liaison from Merrimack Valley's Home Health
Foundation and Judy Trerotola, local Council on Aging's planned
"virtual assisted living" advocate.
Advance registration
is required. $20 for the series includes lunch of salad, wraps,
fruit and drink. Checks payable to The Town of Andover, 36 Bartlett
